Vizio SB3821 C6 Soundbar Review

I thought I’d start off this review by telling you exactly what the Vizio SB3821 C6 is.

I will do a little exploration of what a soundbar is, too, just in case you need clarification. A soundbar is just that, a bar that produces sound.

Of course, there is a lot more to it than that, and don’t worry I will be looking further at them!

Essentially, a soundbar does the job of a stereo speaker, but in a thin, long bar shape that fits onto your television, either above or below it.

It projects audio from your television (or PC monitor), usually by connecting to it via Bluetooth and/or WiFi.

The soundbars on the market today tend to be created with flat screen TVs in mind because typically those TVs do not have great built-in speakers for sound.

These soundbars give them a boost. This brings us directly to the Vizio SB3821 C6. 

The Vizio SB3821 C6 is an excellent example of what it means to be a good quality soundbar. Keep on reading to learn all about the features it has. 

Dolby Digital

This excellent feature is what ensures that you get excellent surround sound quality audio.

This is what turns your TV into a mini movie theater, even if you are just playing a Blu Ray or streaming a TV show.

It gives an excellent dimension to all sounds, as well as enhancing audio definition. 

Wireless Subwoofer

No, not the sound a dog makes …. Get it …. woof? Anyway, moving swiftly on. A wireless subwoofer literally means a wireless speaker.

That’s right, this speaker doesn’t have any wires that need to be plugged in and dangle unsightly from your TV.

The ‘subwoofer’ aspect just means that it will produce an extremely powerful level of sound that is high-quality and rich. 

DTS TruSurround

The aim of this feature is to ensure that you get the same sound as you might from a surround sound system, but without actually using a surround sound system.

It ensures each sound is immersive and doesn’t get that tinny sound that often comes with TVs.

DTS TruVolume

This handy little feature lets you set the volume to just one specific volume, keeping it exactly there for the whole of your viewing experience.

There’s nothing worse than having to turn the volume right up for a quiet movie, only to then be almost deafened when the commercials start to play.

This setting will ensure that you avoid that. 

Good audio quality

The audio quality in this soundbar is excellent. Every word and sound is clear, whether spoken in a whisper, or in a crowd of rowdy people.

Shifts in the dialogue are picked up easily and seamlessly, ensuring you don’t miss a single word.

The soundbar itself also comes with two drivers, which also help to enhance your audio experience.

The soundbar (or subwoofer as it is also called) is what gives you that excellent bass that is needed when watching movies or listening to your favorite albums.

The two drivers help to pick up and handle high frequencies in the sound. In terms of lower range frequencies, it can handle around 50Hz. 

Design

The design of the Vizio SB3821 C6 is super sleek, ensuring that it can be seamlessly attached to your device without looking too out of place.

It is black in color, making it perfect for black TVs which are the most common color, however, it would not look too out of place with any other color tv you may have.

It is super slim, and it is recommended for use with TVs that are 42 inches or above. The sides are brushed aluminum, adding to the sleek look of the speaker overall.

The simple design is perfect for all users, sometimes simplicity is the best in terms of appearance, especially when the wow factor comes from the other features. 

Easy setup and use

Lastly, I must, of course, discuss how easy this speaker is to set up and use. It’s no good having a speaker with all these incredible features if the thing is too difficult to use.

Luckily for you, the Vizio SB3821 C6 is super easy to set up.

Everything you need to connect it to your TV is included with the speaker, and the setup of these cables is simple and self-explanatory. 

It comes with a remote, as well as having controls on the bar itself. If you are lucky enough to already have a Vizio TV, then you can actually use that remote for the soundbar too.

To connect a Bluetooth device to the speaker, such as your phone for music streaming, you just have to click one clearly displayed button.

Overall, I was super impressed with how simplistic this Vizio product was to set up and use!

Who is it for?

The good news is that to enjoy the Vizio SB3821 C6 Soundbar you don’t need to be a certain type of person.

This product will suit anyone who is looking for that extra ‘oomph’ from their entertainment system.

If you are someone who enjoys watching TV, watching movies, listening to music, or playing video games, then this is the product for you.

It really does suit everyone. The sleek black design with stylish metal sides means that it fits into all living rooms and dens, no matter what your decor choices are.

It matches most TVs seamlessly, and you can barely tell that there is a soundbar there if your TV happens to match the color.  

Of course, you would need to ensure it is compatible with your TV, and Vizio does recommend that it be used with a 42-inch television or more.

Some other reviewers have said that they are using it with TVs up to 55 and 60 inches! However, that aside, and almost anyone can enjoy this vivacious Vizio. 

What I Loved

There was so much about this Vizio SB3821 C6 that I absolutely adored. The pros far outweigh the cons for us and I Couldn't wait to share them with you!

• You get really good value for money with this product
• The freedom given to you by the Bluetooth feature is excellent as you can seamlessly switch from mobile listening to speakers
• It vastly upgrades your audio experience to a standard akin to that of a movie theater 
• It’s wireless so it looks neater and requires far less set up 
• The sound was extremely clear and picks up even the quietest whispers in movies

What I Didn't love 

As I mentioned above, the positives of this product really do outweigh any negative points, however, nothing is completely perfect and I want to be honest with you.

Here are the things that I Didn't love so much. They are minor, but still should be taken into consideration before buying the product.

Remember that what suits one person’s needs may not suit another. 

• The remote control provided can sometimes lag a little, especially from far away 
• The Bluetooth connection sometimes cuts out if you are far away 
• There is no HDMI port in this product which will definitely put off some customers. Because of how common they are these days, I felt that an HDMI port would vastly improve this product, and many other reviewers also felt the same 
• It struggles to get lower frequencies under 50Hz
