You’ve found the most stylish speaker around now that you're reading my OontZ Angle 3 review.

In addition, you'll find it fits your tight budget and adds a little extra oomph to your desktop set-up.

The OontZ Angle 3 by Cambridge SoundWorks has exceptional range and suits your classy taste in design.

Will this incredibly affordable speaker perform as good as it looks?

I’ve got the scoop for you, and you’ll want to be sure to read to the end. OontZ Angle 3 isn’t for everyone looking for a bargain speaker.

But if you’ve already decided, check out the OontZ Angle 3 on Amazon.

If you want to hone in on a particular aspect of this Bluetooth speaker use the following table.

OUR TOP PICK

As I was saying. It isn’t for everyone. For starters, if you want to take full advantage of your Bluetooth speaker’s incredible portability, you’ll want to be cautious around water.

OontZ Angle 3’s waterproof rating isn’t as good as other speakers I’ve reviewed.

Let’s find out how much water it can handle!

Is OontZ Angle 3 Waterproof?

It is water-resistant, but it’s the lowest waterproof rating of all portable Bluetooth Speakers I’ve reviewed.

OontZ Angle 3 has an IPX5 Water Resistant Rating.

It can handle a little water splashing from a shower or pool as long as you plug the ports. But you DO NOT want to submerge this speaker.

You’ll be bummed if you drop it in the water.

If you’re looking for something more waterproof under $50, you’ll want to try the Aomais Sport II. It has an IPX7 Waterproof Rating. And there are others on my top ten list.  Check them out here.

But if the waterproof rating isn’t a priority for you, OontZ Angle 3 might be what you need. Let’s dig a bit deeper to find out.

Range That Gives New Meaning To Portability

Most of the speakers that I’ve reviewed have at least 66 feet of range. But OontZ Angle 3 blows them all away.

If the range is a top priority for you, you’ll be amazed at this little speaker’s performance.

OontZ has up to 100ft of unobstructed proven range capability.

It has an advanced antenna design teamed up with Bluetooth 4.2. The antenna helps make connecting fast and provides more range than some of the highest-rated Bluetooth speakers.

Imagine cranking up your favorite tunes on your stereo and sitting around the bonfire at the back of your property 100 feet away. Even with minor obstructions such as doors, OontZ Angle 3 performs flawlessly.

The 100ft range capability makes this fantastic little speaker ultra-portable. And it fits perfectly in a beach bag, backpack, and even in most car cup holders. It thought that was pretty slick.

You could be enjoying a fun game of volleyball at the beach while your OontZ Angle 3 rests on your beach blanket over 33 yards away. That’s more than a quarter of a football field.

But, if there is a lot of background noise, you’ll struggle to hear this little Bluetooth speaker.

You’ll Love the Pleasing Sound, But…

While it may not be as loud as the Tribit Xsound Go, it has a superb sound quality for the price.

The crystal clear sound at max volume has virtually no distortion. On the flip side, when the volume is down low, the bass is almost non-existent, and the treble sounds high pitched.

If you’re enjoying an intimate gathering or watching a YouTube video at your computer, you’ll love the pleasing sound of OontZ Angle 3 at mid to high volume levels.

There are two Precision neodymium drivers inside the angled box that hits mids and highs effortlessly.

Drivers are separated inside the triangular design from the Bass Radiator for a more pure audio sound. It puts out a decent bass boom for its size.

However, the bass isn’t going to match Anker SoundCore 2, but for half the price, you really can’t go wrong with OontZ Angle 3.

The 10 watts of output is plenty for the intended use. It fills a medium-sized room such as a den, dorm room, or small gathering by a campfire.

But don’t expect to use it at a tailgate party or anywhere you’ll be competing for sound.

One of the best uses for OontZ Angle 3 is as an addition to your desktop or laptop computer speaker.

Stylish Design Great for Home Office

The triangular shape of this beautiful Bluetooth speaker makes it perfect, changing up your look.

You can stand it up on end and tuck in a corner or lay it on its side underneath your computer monitor.

No matter where you put it, this speaker looks incredible with your home office set-up.

The best part is you don’t have to spend much money on an excellent looking speaker.

The unique design is sure to catch the eye of your guests. Who doesn’t love a magnificent little showpiece when entertaining?

It comes in six different color options. There is even a red CocaCola special edition one available. If you’re a CocaCola enthusiast, you’ll love this one.

Check out all of the different options on Amazon here.

Not only does the OontZ Angle 3 look stylish, but it also has a good battery life for its size and price range.

Better Battery Life Than You’d Expect

The battery life of OontZ Angle 3 is outstanding for what you pay.

This bargain speaker can handle a full day of play at the beach or a long day’s work at your computer. And still, have enough juice for your evening campfire.

You’ll get up to 14 hours of play at 75% volume. That is simply amazing for a speaker in this price range. The only downfall is it’s not as loud as other speakers, so you’ll want to crank it up if you’re entertaining.

But you’ll still get 8-10 hours of play at a max volume. So go ahead and turn it up-this little soundbox can handle it.

Compared to JBL Clip 3, Oontz Angle 3’s battery life is hands down a better choice. You don’t have the same durability with Oontz as you do the Clip 3 or even the Clip 2. But OontZ wasn’t intended to be a wearable speaker.

So I still recommend Oontz Angle 3 if you’re looking for a stylish, portable Bluetooth that has better battery life.

But how durable is it?

If You Drop It, It Won’t Forgive You

I love the look of the OontZ Angle 3. But the triangle shape makes it more susceptible to dents and breakage if it’s dropped.

Angles Are More Prone to Dents

Just like anything with a definite edge, edges tend to get beaten up quicker than rounded corners. And OontZ Angle 3 has three relatively thin edges.

The top and bottom of the ends are a rubberized material, but that only protects the ends.

The speaker covering is made of metal and dents very quickly. As I said, watch out for those angled edges. Metal dents, and if you drop this little speaker, it won’t forgive you like an Aomais Sport 2.

Puddles Are Bad

The bottom of the speaker where the bass radiator is has a triangular grille with holes.

There is little protection for the guts of the speaker. So when I say don’t get it wet, that’s why.

Even though it has an IPX5 rating, make sure you have the bass radiator side facing down if you’re by a pool or in a shower.

And whatever you do, don’t set it down in a puddle of water. You’ll be crying puddles of tears if you do.

Rubber Feet For Vibration Protection

The speaker has rubberized feet on the bottom under the bass radiator. So vibrations won’t cause it to bounce off a smooth surface.

You can set your speaker on the counter of your kitchen, a glass table, and on your desk without the worry of travel vibrations.

OontZ Angle 3 Carry Case: Optional Extra Protection

If you’re just carrying your speaker around in a backpack and careful when you handle it, you won’t have any worries about ruining your investment.

There is a nice carrying case available designed to fit your OontZ Angle 3 perfectly. For the small price you pay, I highly recommend getting the case.

The optional case has a conveniently placed clip-on carabiner. And the case zips securely around your little speaker.

These features provide additional portability and durability that you wouldn’t have otherwise. Click here to check out the optional case on Amazon.

Now you know how to protect your speaker, but what about the warranty?

Excellent Customer Service But Short Warranty Period

Make sure you buy Oontz Angle 3 new, and from an authorized retailer if you want full warranty coverage. You’ll find these speakers refurbished, but your warranty may not be covered if you have one at all.

Cambridge SoundWorks only offers a 90-day warranty. That pales in comparison to most of the portable Bluetooth speakers in my reviews. Most fall between 12-18 months.

The warranty also states that if the manufacturer decides to replace a defective unit, they’ll provide you with a fully refurbished speaker.

This section in the warranty didn’t sit well with me. If I buy something new and it doesn’t work correctly, I feel the manufacturer should stand behind their product.

I  would expect to get the equivalent of what I paid for to replace my defective purchase. Or at the very least, my money back as long as I was still in my warranty period.

To be fair, though, you have to consider the price you pay for the OontZ Angle, too.

The customer service is friendly and responsive, so that’s a plus. I just want you to know what you’re dealing with if you run into a problem.

What Comes With Your Oontz Angle 3?

Although only get a 90-day warranty, many issues turn up in the first few times of use.

Try out all of the scenarios you’ll use your speaker right away to avoid any interruptions of fun. Make sure and contact customer service immediately if something doesn’t seem right.

Cambridge SoundWork’s customer service is based in the United States. They received 4.4 out of 5 stars and hit high marks on:

  • Quick turnaround time answering customer questions
  • Outstanding problem resolution
  • Hassle-free product replacement (just know if you’re getting refurbished or not)
  • Friendly and courteous support

I can’t stress enough that you’ll want to try out your speaker before the 90-day warranty period is exhausted.

So, what’s in the box?

The comes secured in a plastic sleeve inside a box. There is no protective styrofoam or bubble wrap around the speaker.

And here’s what’s inside the box:

  • A lightweight, beautifully constructed speaker just over 9 oz.
  • A plastic sleeve protects your speaker.
  • One Micro USB Charging Cable
  • One 3.5mm AUX Cable
  • Built-in rechargeable lithium batteries
  • One Quick Start Guide

Make sure you read the manual. Operation is effortless, but things like the pairing, troubleshooting, and do’s and don’ts are helpful tips, so you get the most out of your investment.

The speaker is small and portable, measuring 5.25 x 2.6 x 2.8 inches.

You can fit it into a backpack, a large jacket pocket, or purse. It’s lightweight and compact. So you can feel free to carry it anywhere you want to go.

The speaker has a rubbery, silicone material covering each end. There is a metal grille covering the bottom with rubber feet to protect it from vibration when in play.

The buttons are flush but easy to use. There is a plug that covers the auxiliary and Micro USB charging port.

You’ll want to be sure and secure this if using it by water. Remember, your speaker only has an IPX5 rating and can’t be submerged in water.

But your protective cover helps keep water splash and dust out of the speaker’s ports.

There is a built-in mic for utilizing the touch-free calling feature, too.

It’s nice that the unit comes with an Auxiliary cable. The value of this speaker is enhanced because not all Bluetooth speakers come with one.

Now you have everything you need, but how does it work?

Operating OontZ Angle 3 Is A Snap

It’s easy to pair and operate OontZ Angle 3. Check out this video to see how it works.

For operation, you just select Bluetooth on your phone settings, find your device, select it, and your device pairs automatically when powered-on.

A musical tone indicates it’s ready to pair. A blinking blue light tells you the device is pairing, and once paired, the light turns solid blue.

You’re ready to play your favorite tunes or hold that conference call.

The Bad News

Unlike some of my other top picks for portable Bluetooth speakers, OontZ Angle 3 doesn’t pair with multiple speakers.

The Good News

You’ll still enjoy a fantastic listening experience. And this speaker pairs well with most of the popular Bluetooth compatible devices.

OontZ Angle 3 has a lot of pizzazz for a small, portable Bluetooth speaker.  For the great price, you’ll enjoy the quality sound and stylish look of this little soundbox.

Let’s take a look at all the things I liked and some downfalls I discovered in summary.

Oontz Angle 3 – What I Like

  • The range on this Bluetooth speaker under 50 is spectacular.
  • You can get an optional carry case and the speaker for under $30.
  • The sleek, angled look is stylish and tucks away nicely on a desktop.
  • The sound is clear and can handle max volume with no distortion.

Oontz Angle 3 – What I Don’t Like

  • It doesn’t put out the loudness that I enjoy in a portable Bluetooth speaker.
  • Not as waterproof as other options on my list.
  • It’s not as durable as other speakers I’ve reviewed.
  • You can’t pair multiple speakers together.
